HATHA YOGA

The word hatha can be translated in two ways:hatha Ha = Sun ( Pingla nadi) Tha= Moon ( Ida nadi) The main object of Hatha Yoga is to create the balance between Ida and Pingla nadi. These are the two important energy channels inside the body when this has been achived, the impulses generate give a call of awakening of shusumna nadi which is located in the central path way in the spine, through which the kundalini shakti rises to sahasrar chakra, therefore illumining the higher centers of human consiciousness.
Therefore, Hatha Yoga not only strengthen the body and improves the health but also activates and awakens the higher centres responsible for the evolution of human consciousness.

ASHTANGA YOGA

Yoga Poses For Weight Loss And Toning The term vinyasa refers to the alignment of movement & breath, a method which turns static yoga postures in to a dynamic flow.

The term vinayasa also refers to a specific series of movement that are frequently done between each pose in a series. The vinayasa flow is a variant of Surya Namskar, the Sun salutation and is used in other styles of yoga beside Astanga Vinayasa Yoga.

In Astanga Vinayasa we move from one posture to another posture simultaneously in a flow. The breathing style use is Astanga Vinayasa Yoga is ujjayi which is a relaxed diaphragmatic style of breathing, characterized by an ocean sound which resonates in the practioners upper chest.

Throughout a practice, this specific breathing style is maintained in alingment with movements. The steady cycle of inhale and exhale provides the practioner with calming, mental focal point.

Additionally, Vinayasa and ujjayi together create internal heat, which leads to purification of the body through increased circulation and sweating.

PRANAYAMA

Pranayama is the perfect control of the life
current through control of breath, and is the process by which we understand the secret of prana and manipulate it.
You can hardly make an spiritual progress without the practice of pranayama. One who has grasped the very core of cosmic life and activity.
Through various exercises & training in pranayama the yogi tries to realize in this little body, the whole of cosmic life, & attain perfection.

MEDITATION

Meditation is rest, absolute rest, a full stop to all activity physical, Mental, Emotional. It is not a technique but a way of life. When you are in such a deep rest that nothing stirs in you, when all action as such ceases as if you are fast asleep yet awake- you come to know who you are suddenly window opens. It can not be opened by effort because effort creates tension- & tension is the cause of our whole misery. Hence this is something very fundamental to be understood that meditation is not effort.
Why do we Meditate?
In today world we have everything to live for, to experience and to enjoy , but we don’t have a healthy mind. We don’t have free mind. It is the nature of the mind to magnify small things in to serious problem. Meditation help us detach. The reason is that meditation reduces stress level and alleviates anxiety. If we can reduce Stress, many health benefit follow. There should be no conflict between your religion and meditation even though meditation are found in Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Catholicism. Meditation is about consciousness. The belief of the mind become trivial we dive deep in to the heart of the matter to gain access to our soul our inner reality. Therefore meditation is practiced by people of different religions or no religion.

SHATKARMA

The shatkarma or the six purification techniques in hatha yoga are designed to make the body strong and healthy. Shat means six and karma means action the shatkarmas consist of six groups of purification practices.
The shatkarma are also used to balance the three doshas in the body kapha, mucus; Pitta, bile; and vata, wind.
Hatha yoga, as explained in text ‘Hatha yoga pradeepika` is aimed at making the body fit and mind healthy for higher practices of Raja Yoga.
